Archpriest Symeon's Personal Morning and Evening Prayers

MORNING PRAYER:

Trisagion Prayers:
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (+) Amen
Glory to You, our God, Glory to You!
O Heavenly King, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, You art everywhere present and fillest all things.  Treasury of blessings and Giver of life: come and abide in us, and cleanse us from every impurity, and save our souls, O Good One!
Holy God! Holy Mighty! Holy Immortal! Have mercy on us.
Holy God! Holy Mighty! Holy Immortal! Have mercy on us.
Holy God! Holy Mighty! Holy Immortal! Have mercy on us.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now, and ever unto ages of ages.  Amen.
O Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us!
O Lord, cleanse us from our sins!
O Master, pardon our transgressions!
O Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Your name's sake.
Lord have mercy. (3x)
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the  Holy Spirit,  now and ever and unto ages of ages.  Amen.

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven,  hollowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver  us from the evil one.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory ‑ ‑  (+) of the Father and (+) of the Son and (+) of the Holy Spirit now and ever and unto ages of ages.    Amen.

Come, let us worship God our King ! Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, our King and our God! Come, Let us worship and fall down before Christ Himself, our King and our God!

Saint Patrick's Breastplate.
We bind unto ourselves today the strong Name of the Trinity, by invocation of the same, In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, the Three in One, the One in Three.

We bind unto ourselves this day forever, by power of faith, Christ's incarnation; His baptism in the Jordan River; His death on cross for our salvation; His bursting from the spiced tomb; His riding up the heavenly way; His coming on the day of doom;
We bind unto ourselves today.

We bind unto ourselves the power of the great love of the Cherubim; the sweet "Well done" in judgment hour; the service of the Seraphim, Confessors' faith, Apostles' word, the Patriarchs' prayers, the Prophets' scrolls; all good deeds done unto the Lord, and purity of simple souls.

We bind unto ourselves today the virtues of the starlit heaven, the glorious sun's life‑giving ray, the whiteness of the moon at even, the flashing of the lightning free, the whirling wind's tempestuous shocks, the stable earth, the deep salt sea, around the old eternal rocks.

We bind unto ourselves today the power of God to hold and lead, his eye to watch, his might to stay, his ear to hearken to our need. The wisdom of our God to teach, his hand to guide, his shield to ward; the Word of God to give us speech, his heavenly host to be our guard.

Against the demon snares of sin, the vice that gives temptation force, the natural lusts that war within, the hostile ones that mar our course; or few or many, far or nigh, in every place, and in all hours, against their fierce hostility, We bind to ourselves these holy powers.

Against all Satan's spells and wiles, against false words of heresy, against the knowledge that defiles, against the heart's idolatry, against the wizard's evil craft, against the death wound and the burning, the choking wave and poisoned shaft, protect us Christ, till your returning:
Christ be with me, Christ within me, Christ behind me, Christ before me, Christ beside me, Christ to win me, Christ to comfort and restore me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ in quiet, Christ in danger, Christ in hearts of all that love me, Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

We bind unto ourselves the Name, the strong Name of the Trinity; by invocation of the same: In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, The Three in One, and One in Three, of whom all nature has creation: Eternal Father, Spirit, Word, praise to the Lord of our salvation, our salvation is of Christ the Lord. Amen.

(Here may be added special and personal prayers)

A prayer for the healing of Body and Soul (Rx Christi)
Dear Lord Jesus, you went about healing all those who were sick and tormented by unclean spirits. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk. You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from the dead.

O Divine Physician, I come to you now in great need of your intervention. I surrender my life and health into your loving hands. I ask you to send forth your healing power into my heart, mind, body, soul and spirit. Remove from me every lie of the enemy and destroy all the word curses that have been spoken against my health.

If I have accepted medical beliefs that I should not have, I ask for your forgiveness and denounce those beliefs right now. I break every agreement that I have made with my sickness and disease. I denounce every symptom of my illness, and I ask to be set free by the power of your truth.

Please send forth your Holy Spirit to renew my mind and cleanse my thoughts. I refuse to bow down and serve the symptoms of my illness any longer. Please draw my attention away from myself, and help me focus on your enduring love.
O Divine Physician, you are the source and strength of my recovery. Show me how to proceed with your plan for my restoration. I surrender my healthcare into your loving hands. Please help me to discern every aspect of my treatment, medications and recovery process, so that my every thought and action conforms to your good and perfect will for my life. Amen.

A Prayer For Our Nation.
Heavenly Father, your written revelation records many times in history where you softened the hearts of the enemies of your people, or threw them into mental confusion and insanity when they would not give up their plots for the destruction or enslavement of Your people.
Lord, America is not your nation, and Americans are not your people. This nation has turned its back on You. And just like in ancient days, a righteous remnant remains salting this culture. Those who Call upon your Son, Jesus Christ as God, are the righteous of this nation, covered not in their own goodness, but in the Goodness of Your Son, through his sacrifice upon the Blessed and Sacred Cross.
Lord hold our eyes to The Cross and spare this nation in Liberty, so that the Word may be preached in freedom, so that darkness may be pushed back, so that evil and the culture of death may be openly confronted, confounded, confused and ultimately conquered.
We ask that you confuse the minds of those hell bent upon enslaving us through Secular Fundamentalism and Radical Materialism and oppressive or violent police tactics.
Where you will Lord, soften hearts and allow them to hear the Gospel of Life and Hope, and where those refuse, hold them harmless but confused.

Lord I pray for our rulers, whomever they may be, that you would challenge then to awaken to YOU.
Replace their spirit of cunning, with an honorable spirit of Wisdom.
Replace their childhood secular fundamentalism with the revelation of YOU, so that they may come to know YOU and give up their false gods.
Lord I pray that the eyes of their hearts may see true LIGHT, and so come to distinguish between Light and Darkness. Like Constantine before them, sear the imagination of their hearts with a Flaming Cross. Make it the image they see when they close their eyes and try to rest.
Make knowledge of You pleasant to them O Lord so that we may live in peace, and Liberty. I ask in the Precious and Hallowed Name of the only Liberty Granting, Non-Enslaving, LIFE Engendering, Living God of History, Our Blessed Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Song of the Theotokos:
(1) My Soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!
For He has regarded the lowliness of His handmaiden.  For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.

REFRAIN (chanted between each verse):  More honorable than the cherubim, and more glorious beyond compare than the seraphim! Without corruption you gave birth to God the Word:  True Theotokos, we magnify you!

(2)For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name.  And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with His arm, He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. R.

(3) He has put down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of low degree. He has filled the hungry with good things and the rich He has sent empty away. R.
(4) He has helped His servant Israel in remembrance of His mercy, as He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his posterity forever! R.

Psalm 123
I lift up my eye to You, enthroned in the heavens! Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till He has mercy upon  us. Have mercy upon us, O lord, have mercy upon us,  for we have had more than enough of contempt. Too long our soul has been sated with the scorn of those who are at ease ‑ the contempt of the proud.

The Song of Symeon The Godbearer
Lord, now let Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word;  For my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You have prepared before the face of all peoples; A light to enlighten the Gentiles and to be the glory of Your people Israel.

Concluding Prayer
All‑holy Trinity, powerful in essence, kingdom undivided, source of all good, be gracious to me, even though I am a sinner.  Make my heart firm and wise, and cleanse me  of all impurities.  Enlighten my mind that I may forever praise, glorify, and worship You saying:  One is Holy, One is the Lord, Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father.  Amen.
Through the prayers of our holy fathers; may
the Lord have mercy on us. Amen.
